Karen L. Markey. is a music educator with over 35 years of choral performance and teaching experience in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Her background includes teaching music in both public and private schools, and as faculty member at West Chester University. She has also shared her expertise as a church music director, and professional organist. She is past-president and formerly treasurer of the Philadelphia Area Orff Schulwerk Association and is a career member of the Music Educators National Conference, Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, American Choral Directors Association, and the American Orff Schulwerk Association. Mrs. Markey is a consultant in the development and execution of school choral and general music programs, particularly at Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School, West Chester, and has conducted children’s honor choirs for various districts of PMEA and Maryland Music Educators. Mrs. Markey recently has been appointed Chairperson of Repertoire and Standards for Children's Choirs for the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.
