Auditions will be held on Tuesday , May 20th, and Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in the new Swope School of Music building, 817 S. High Street, West Chester, PA 19383.
Two components of the KSCC, the Ensemble, and the Chorus, are comprised of boys and girls with treble (unchanged) voices. The third component, the Youth Chorale, accepts male singers whose voices have changed or are in change from treble to baritone, as well as high school females.
Auditions will be in the form of a typical 75-minute rehearsal with other singers. Students will not need to bring a prepared piece. Assessment criteria will include the ability to: match pitch, echo sing/clap pitch and rhythmic motives, blend voices with other singers, maintain good singing posture, follow directions, focus energies appropriately, and remain attentive for the duration of the rehearsal.
Singers between the ages of 7 and 18 currently represent the Northern Delaware and Southern Chester County region. The KSCC is an educational outreach and performance opportunity within the mission of the Kennett Symphony of Chester County.
